Welcome to MalenaMercurio.com!!

We've put this site together to keep our family and friends informed of our now 5 year old daughter Malena's fight against Leukemia as well as to provide photos of her (before and after the July 12th, 2006 diagnosis) and helpful related links to information available on the web. There is a guestbook for you to share your thoughts (which we read every day, thank you!) and a photo gallery. We will add updates, photos and links whenever possible.    Thanks to all of you for your continued support, we honestly could not get through this without you.

Pete, Suzanne, Jamie, Mackenna, Tony and especially, Malena....

Here we are!

The day has finally arrived and Malena has taken her last dose of chemo!!!  Thank you God and thank you to all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers!  This has been a hell of a long journey and we are so excited that she (and we) can move on and begin to enjoy what is going to be a fabulous, long and HEALTHY life!  The wonderful little girl that is our Malena is so full of happiness and life!  She has been so happy today and every time I looked at her she was grinning from ear to ear. Even today’s rain did not take the sunshine away!  We had a great time!  We went to 11:15 mass and we were joined by our families and friends.  Afterward we headed to Malena’s favorite breakfast place, the Village Kitchen.  We took the kids to Madagascar II and it was during this movie that Malena had her last dose of chemo!  When we came home dinner consisted of bagels and make your own sundaes!  Our neighbor brought over some sparkling grape juice and we toasted to Malena.  Today we also thanked our other kids for helping to keep our family strong throughout these past 2 ½ years!  Today was not only a celebration for Malena but for all of our kids because they have lived through some pretty crazy times!  Seeing their little sister survive this life threatening illness has been a rollercoaster for them as well and we could not be prouder of them!

We could not have made it without the love and support from all of you!  We thank you for all that you have done for us!

We look forward to seeing you at Malena’s End of Chemo Party!

 Let the celebration begin!!!!

Love, Peter and Suzanne
