Merry Christmas!
Malena is doing well!
We had a WONDERFUL “End of Chemo Party!” It was a big success! We are so very blessed! The support we have received during and after her treatments is unbelievable! Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate! For those of you who could not be there, we look forward to celebrating with you in the future!
The few weeks between Malena’s end date, November 9, and the party, November 22, were wonderful! It was fun to feel stress-free, even for a little while!
We are nervous that not giving her chemo will cause her to relapse but we are trying to enjoy each day and not imagine the “what if’s”! A couple of weeks ago I took Malena to her pediatrician due to a rash on her face and she in turn sent us for a few tests one of those being a Lupus panel. You can imagine how I reacted! That, thankfully, came back negative! Thank God! The rash still comes and goes but we are now assuming it is just a reaction to being off chemotherapy. Last weekend Malena had a high fever. Monday we were back at the pediatricians and they sent us to Children’s Hospital ER for a chest x-ray. While waiting in the ER for her results the Doctor kept stopping in with updates. The 5 or 6th time he stopped in I said, “Ok, give me some good news!” He said, “The good news is she has pneumonia!” I was ecstatic! She was discharged and she finishes her meds on Christmas!
I cannot yet give up this website. It has become a part of us over the past 2 years! Though I won’t update it weekly, I will try to do it once a month for awhile! It is good therapy for me and I don’t want to stop!
We hope everyone has a great Christmas!
May all your dreams come true! (Ours certainly has!)
Love, Suzanne
